The Zoom link will be provided. Recordings are available to registrants, so attending the live sessions is not required. Participants are invited to email progress each week by 12:00pm EST on Tuesdays for feedback, which is sent to the class as a mid-week video.
This 5-week landscape painting course is designed for artists eager to explore the world of abstraction and stylized landscapes. In the course, there will be two or three short projects. Students will work from designed, abstracted images to create dynamic and expressive landscapes for these sessions. Each session will guide students through the process of painting with intention, starting with an underpainting in the first week to establish a strong foundation, followed by a fresh, alla prima approach in the second week to complete the work in two sittings. The focus will be on creating expressive, visually striking landscapes that move beyond literal representation and into a more stylized, imaginative space. Students will interpret structures through through a stylized lens.
This course is perfect for those looking to refine their technique and broaden their artistic horizons in cityscape painting.
